One of the most powerful tools I've learned is the value of storytelling or stories that speak to the impact your product or service has had in the lives of people, including you. Storytelling can work wonders in growing your business. Storytelling has been found to be an effective way to build an emotional connection, as well as trust. Storytelling is worth the effort because it helps to encourage engagement and drive sales while also building the KLT (know, like and trust) factor for your business.
Here are 6 storytelling techniques that you can try in your business:
Hero’s Journey - This technique focuses on rising above adversity. The best way to implement this technique is to make the customer the hero of the story, not your brand.
Future Pacing - Make the customer focus on their ideal situation in the future after using your product or service
Push the pain points - agitate the pain points and show how your product/service addresses the issue
Redemption Story - Highlight mistakes that turn out good
Walk away story - focus on a story of someone make a turning point and turning their back on someone or something for your product or service
You are not alone - Tell a story that mirrors your ideal audience it could even be your own story
There are various ways to use storytelling to build trust and to persuade your audience that will encourage sales. The most important part is to be authentic. I invite you to try it on your next interaction and on social media.
